PHUONG NAM INSTITUTE ORGANIZED THE CLOSING CEREMONY FOR THE EXPERT COURSE TITLED “RESEARCH DESIGN AND SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATION”

On August 22, 2025, Phuong Nam Institute of Social Resource Development (Phuong Nam Institute) solemnly held the closing ceremony for the five-day expert course titled “Research Design and Scientific Publication” at 45 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Saigon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The closing ceremony was honored by the presence of distinguished guests, including:

The expert course "Research Design and Scientific Publication" was organized by Phuong Nam Institute, with Prof. Nguyen Van Tuan serving as the principal instructor and Dr. Tran Son Thach as co-lecturer. The five-day course (August 18–22, 2025), held at Phuong Nam Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, attracted more than 120 participants from 70 educational institutions, healthcare organizations, and enterprises across 13 provinces and cities nationwide.

The course curriculum covered key topics such as formulating research questions, research design, data analysis, sample size estimation, detailed guidance on writing each section of a scientific paper, and responding to peer review comments in accordance with international standards. Furthermore, the course equipped participants with essential skills for successfully preparing and submitting manuscripts to international journals. At the ceremony, Prof. Nguyen Van Tuan – Director of the Center for Health Technologies, University of Technology Sydney (Australia) – shared valuable insights, “Vietnam is entering a golden era to strengthen its international standing by publishing research papers in prestigious journals. We not only contribute to building our own reputation within our professional fields but also to enhancing our nation’s presence on the international stage. Therefore, each of us must take action rather than relying on others.”

In her address, Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Vy – Director of Phuong Nam Institute – expressed deep appreciation for the dedication and support of Prof. Nguyen Van Tuan and Dr. Tran Son Thach, who had traveled from Australia to Vietnam to contribute to academic exchange. She also highly commended the commitment of the participants, “Despite the busy schedules and advanced age, the esteemed participants demonstrated a strong commitment to the course, showing seriousness in learning and actively engaging with the lecturers.”

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Phuong Nam Institute presented certificates to the participants who successfully completed the course. This served as recognition of their dedicated learning, progressive spirit, and ability to apply knowledge in practice.
