PHUONG NAM INSTITUTE ORGANISED THE OPENING CEREMONY FOR THE EXPERT COURSE TITLED: "RESEARCH DESIGN AND SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATION"

On August 18, 2025, Phuong Nam Institute of Social Resource Development (Phuong Nam Institute) solemnly held the opening ceremony for the expert course entitled “Research Design and Scientific Publication” at 45 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Saigon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. The course attracted more than 120 participants from 70 educational institutions, healthcare organizations, and enterprises in 13 provinces and cities nationwide.

The ceremony was honored by the presence of:

1. Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Vy – Director of the Phuong Nam Institute;

2. Professor Nguyen Van Tuan – Director of the Centre for Health Technologies, University of Technology Sydney (Australia);

3. Dr. Tran Son Thach – University of Technology Sydney (Australia);

In her opening remarks, Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Vy, Director of the Phuong Nam Institute, emphasized the main objective of the program: It is designed to enhance the scientific research capacity of researchers and lecturers, covering the whole process from developing ideas to conducting research and writing scientific papers.

At the opening ceremony, Professor Nguyen Van Tuan highlighted the importance of strengthening academic standards: Over the past decade, we have been actively engaged in what could be called the transfer of methodologies for preparing scientific papers that meet international standards, with the hope of thereby enhancing the presence of science in the global arena.

The five-day course is led by Professor Nguyen Van Tuan – one of the top 1% most cited experts in the field of Medicine globally. The program consists of 16 in-depth lectures, focusing on two main areas: research design and scientific writing in accordance with international standards. The course aims to strengthen participants’ research capabilities  from idea conceptualization, research implementation, to scholarly article development. Additionally, it equips learners with the essential skills to prepare and publish scientific papers in international journals.

Aligned with Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW issued by the Politburo on breakthrough development in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, Phuong Nam Institute organised the course standing as a key activity within its 2025 training agenda. The course emphasizes standardization of research processes, enhancement of scientific rigor, minimization of bias, and assurance of result reliability. A pivotal objective is to familiarize participants with scientific publication standards from manuscript preparation to peer-review response  ultimately increasing publication success in high-impact academic journals.
