He is a Distinguished Professor at the University of Technology Sydney (Australia) and formerly served as the Director of the Genetic Epidemiology and Osteoporosis Research Program at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research - one of the leading biomedical research institutes in Sydney. Professor Tuan also serves on the editorial boards of numerous prestigious international scientific journals and is the author of hundreds of peer-reviewed publications in top-tier journals.
