To contribute to the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation - which includes tasks and solutions related to the development and strategic employment of high-quality human resources and talents to meet the demands of scientific, technological, and digital advancement; in line with the 2025 Activity Plan of the Phuong Nam Institute on training and capacity building, we respectfully inform about the organization of the expert course "Research Design and Scientific Publication", primarily conducted by Prof. Tuan V Nguyen, one of the world’s top 1% of medical experts.

The course is designed to enhance scientific research capacity for researchers and lecturers, from developing research ideas to conducting studies and writing scientific papers. The program focuses on standardizing the research process, enhancing scientific quality, minimizing bias, and ensuring the reliability of results. An important objective of the course is to equip participants with the skills to meet international standards, from manuscript writing to responding to peer reviewers, in order to improve their chances of publishing in reputable journals.

1. Course Objective

The main objective of the course is to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge for designing scientific research. Additionally, the course will guide participants on how to prepare and publish scientific articles in international journals.

2. Course Participants

This course is designed for scientists, researchers, lecturers, PhD students, postgraduates, and undergraduates passionate about scientific research who wish to conduct research and publish internationally.

3. Facilitators

1. Prof. Tuan V Nguyen (Principal Lecturer)

Prof. Tuan V Nguyen is a Distinguished Professor at the University of Technology Sydney (Australia), Director of the Centre for Health Technologies at the University of Technology Sydney, and the first Vietnamese to become a member of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences. Prof. Nguyen is one of the few Vietnamese experts abroad ranked among the top 1% of global experts, with over 300 WoS (ISI) publications and numerous articles published in prestigious international journals such as Nature, Science, Lancet, New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, etc.

2. Dr. Thach S Tran

Dr. Thach S Tran is a lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney (Australia), with over 15 years of experience in research design and data analysis. He has published 68 peer-reviewed original publications and 3 systematic reviews in the top peer-reviewed journals such as The N Engl J Med, Lancet, Lancet Child & Adolescent Health, JAMA, JAMA Netw Open, PLoS Med, Eur Respir J, J Bone Miner Res, J Clin Endocrinol Metab, Clin Chem, and Diabetes Care. Within the last 5 years, he published 45 original papers and 1 Cochrane review.

6. Tuition fee

1. Tuition fee: 6,000,000 VND per participant (6 million per participant)

The tuition fee includes a name tag, study materials, certificate of completion, drinking water, and other support services.

2. Tuition fee discounts:

***Former participants who have previously attended courses conducted by Prof. Tuan V Nguyen and organized by the Phuong Nam Institute are eligible for a 10% discount, plus an additional 5% discount if the tuition fee is paid before July 20, 2025.
